Photo of patient with straight teethIf you are an adult with tooth overcrowding, gaps between teeth or bite problems, the nearly invisible Invisalign system may be a great solution. Invisalign® consists of a series of custom-made aligner trays worn over your teeth. They gradually shift your teeth into the ideal location–no metal brackets or wires to tighten. You can remove the aligners to eat and brush your teeth, so you don't have to avoid any foods, and you can maintain optimum dental hygiene.

As an authorized and specially trained Invisalign provider, Dr. Scott Welch will assess your teeth to determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign or if he needs to refer you to an orthodontist. If Invisalign® is right for you, he will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your teeth's shape, size, and movement. Most adults need to wear their Invisalign® aligner trays for about a year, advancing to a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks.

Our patients say the biggest benefits of Invisalign® versus traditional metal braces are:

  • They're practically invisible. Most people won't even notice you're wearing them.
  • They're comfortable. No scratchy wires or elastic bands.
  • You can remove them to eat or brush/floss–no worry about food particles getting stuck or damaging your aligner trays.
  • They really get results!

Common dental FAQ Icon COMMON QUESTIONS

Invisalign® is a convenient and discreet alternative to traditional metal braces. This treatment involves using a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten teeth without metal or wires.

Through 3-D imaging software, the treatment plan is displayed from the initial position to the final desired position, from which a series of custom-made, clear “aligners” are produced. Each “aligner” moves teeth gradually and is worn for approximately two weeks, then is replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved.

Invisalign® works best for people whose teeth need mild to moderate correction. There's even an Invisalign® "Express" system that lasts only six months for people with minor tooth alignment problems. However, those with severely rotated teeth, extremely large gaps, deep overbites, and other more complex dental situations will get better results with traditional braces.
